This was a bit of a mash up of ideas to take advantage of some asian flavors to put on an easy meal.
Meal doesn't take long, it's all on the stovetop, and cleanup isn't too bad. Great for the weeknight.
We often serve them naked with sriracha mayo and a stir fried veggie for a low carb meal, but it can be wrapped in lettuce, or tossed on a bun for a hand held delight.
1 lb (500g) Ground Pork
3-4 sliced green onions (whites and greens)
2 tbsp minced fresh Garlic
2 tbsp minced fresh Ginger
1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
1 tbsp oil (for cooking)
Carefully mix ingredients (except oil) in a bowl to combine ingredients. Mixture will be a bit wet but should hold together.
Portion into 2 large patties (or 4 smaller ones if desired)
Heat oil over medium heat in skillet.
Add patties and cook over med to med-low for 5-8 min so patties are halfway cooked, a nice crust is formed but not a charred mess
Flip and cook another 5-8 min until done.
TO SERVE:
Serve naked on a plate, or a lettuce wrap, or on a nice bun
Sriracha Mayo is great - just mix 1:1 sriracha and mayo together
Serve with stir fired veggies - we enjoy sliced kale and leeks with garlic and ginger
